There is no place like home. A custom home allows you to design and create a living space that perfectly suits your lifestyle and preferences. You have the freedom to choose the layout, materials, and finishes, ensuring that every aspect of your home reflects your unique taste and needs. Additionally, building a custom home allows for greater flexibility in terms of size and functionality. You can optimize the space to accommodate your specific requirements, whether it’s a home office, a dedicated entertainment area, or a spacious kitchen for culinary enthusiasts. Moreover, a custom home provides the opportunity for us to incorporate energy-efficient features and the latest technology in building materials, resulting in long-term cost savings and less maintenance.
Our Process
Step 1: Let’s find a Lot!
Most builders want you to arrive with a lot in hand. We are building different however and prefer to walk with you through the entire process. If you have a lot already in mind, that is completely fine, but there is a fine balance between the right lot for the right house, so it is helpful to have your builder privy to the lot selection. We are happy to work with any realtor you may have, but we also can help you find one. We can also help you get soils work if your land is in need of a septic system.
Step 2: Determine Financing
Determining what we can build within your budget is the most crucial step. We want to ensure heading into your project we have enough funds to get through it, and you are also left with the house of your dreams. To do this we will work together with your lender (we can recommend one if needed) and determine what size house we can build within your budget. It is important to determine financing before construction starts. We do not provide in house construction financing at this time.
Step 3: Design
Farris Construction prides itself on providing its own in-house floorplan design services. If you are interested in working with us in this phase you can check out our design pages. Working with us will help us ensure there are no surprises in the cost to build. If you already have a plan in mind, or have another designer or architect you would like to work with that is perfectly fine as well. We allow any design materials in our houses, but may not always warranty items purchased from outside vendors
Step 4: Break Ground
Once all these steps are finished, we can get started! It is imperative we make as many selections as possible towards the beginning of the project to prevent delays.
